Sometimes there comes a point when it's time to leave a relationship or situation, to strike out on a new adventure, and in the process become a new person. This Portal symbolizes newfound freedom—breaking out of a cocoon and metamorphosing into a butterfly. While constructing it I was thinking about the act of leaving as well as how it feels to be left. In either case, transformation occurs.
